Actual braking performance is a rock solid average in power terms though. Despite mineral oil internals, consistency of lever pull to power output is execellent right through to high temperatures/loads.
WMB verdict:
Value: 3/5
Not pretty but a proven and very consistent all-round performer that's good for the money.
Burning the pads in, in dry, clean conditions is vital but once cooked they last fairly well. Once bedded in, they've got MAGURA's typically firm feel, but teh forged lever is wobble and rattle-free.
Their power levels aren't far off the much more expensive Louise and Marta brakes either, certainly enough for aggressive use with the 180mm rotors we used.
At 462g a complete set, it isn't too heavy either and the pricing is certainly keen. There's no doubting MAGURA's cheapest brake has been reborn.
Performance: 7/10
Value: 10/10
A proper trail brake for the price of old discounted anchors.
