MARTA - REVIEWS IN THE PRESS

1. MOUNTAIN BIKING UK writes in its February 2010 issue:

Although it's part of Magura's lightweight race family, the minimalist Marta still has the power to cut it on the mountain. The fat bodied calliper uses the same long pads as the Louise but hose angle is fixed. There's no hinge on the single sided lever body either so be carful sliding it onto carbon bars. The broad, flat lever feels rock solid though, which matches the firm braking feel.

Unlike most similar priced brakes there's no bite point adjust though and the extra long hose will inevitably need cutting.

Braking power is comfortably mid-pack, and while it warped during bedding-in, the minimal rotor straightened fine in use. You get a five-year leak guarantee too, although bedding-in is vital for decent pad life.

Verdict:

Lightweight brake with reasonable power and feel, but low on features.
